Storm Damage Gutter Repair and Insurance Estimates

After hail, straight-line wind or a fallen limb, The Seamless Brothers inspect the gutters, document the damage with photos, and write a detailed line-item estimate you can hand to your insurance adjuster. The inspection is free on every visit, and the owners who inspect are the owners who do the repair.

What storm damage looks like on gutters

  • Hail. Dimpling along the face and bottom of the run, dented downspouts, and granules from the shingles washed into the trough.
  • Wind. Runs lifted off their hangers, end caps blown off, downspouts torn from the straps.
  • Trees and limbs. Crushed or bent sections, fascia split behind the gutter, corners knocked out of square.

Some of it is obvious from the ground. Some of it, like a run pulled a half inch off pitch, only shows up as overflow in the next storm. We check both.

How we help with the insurance claim

Adjusters work from documentation. We photograph every damaged section, note the measurements, and produce a line-item estimate that breaks out materials and labor by run. You get it within 24 hours of the inspection. If the adjuster wants to meet on site, one of the owners can be there to walk it.

We do not file the claim for you or negotiate with the carrier, and we will not inflate an estimate. What we give you is an accurate, itemized document from the contractor who will do the work.

Repair or replace after a storm

On a seamless system, a crushed length can often be replaced without touching the rest of the run. On older sectional or steel gutters, storm damage is frequently the point where replacement makes more sense than piecing it back together, and the estimate will show both options so you and your adjuster can decide.

Storm Damage & Insurance: common questions

Does homeowners insurance cover gutter damage?

Many policies cover sudden storm damage to gutters from hail, wind or falling trees, subject to your deductible. Wear and neglect usually are not covered. Check your policy or ask your agent; we provide the documentation and estimate the adjuster will ask for.

Do you charge for a storm damage inspection?

No. The inspection is free on every visit, and you receive photo documentation and a line-item estimate within 24 hours.

Will you meet with my insurance adjuster?

Yes. If the adjuster wants to meet on site, one of the owners can be there to walk the damage with them.

How soon after a storm should I have my gutters checked?

As soon as it is safe. Lifted runs and knocked-off end caps cause overflow in the very next storm, and photos taken soon after the event make the claim clearer.

Can a tree limb dent be repaired on seamless gutters?

Often the damaged length can be cut out and replaced with a new seamless section fabricated on site, without replacing the entire run.
